Lord Huron is an alternative folk rock band from Los Angeles built around Ben Schneider's introspective songwriting and layered arrangements. The Michigan-rooted group channels narrative-driven indie folk with a cinematic sensibility that translates distinctly to vinyl.
About Lord Huron
Schneider founded Lord Huron as a solo project in spring 2010 after traveling to Lake Huron in Michigan, where the initial songs for their first EP Into the Sun took shape. He assembled a full band of fellow Michiganders including Mark Barry on drums and percussion, Miguel Briseño handling bass and keyboard, and Tom Renaud on guitar. The group quickly developed a reputation for theatrical live performances that matched the conceptual ambition in their recordings.
Their studio output emphasizes acoustic instrumentation, orchestral arrangements, and storytelling that feels equally at home on record as it does in a theater setting. The band has released several albums that showcase their approach to folk-influenced rock, building a dedicated collector base drawn to both their songwriting and the quality of their vinyl editions. The Groove Hunter tracks 6 editions of Lord Huron vinyl, including Strange Trails (10th Anniversary Edition) on 180g 2 LP and studio albums like Long Lost and Vide Noir.
