About Fred Again
Frederick John Philip Gibson started young in Brian Eno's orbit, joining an a cappella group at the producer's studio when he was 16. By his early twenties, he was co-producing and writing for major pop records: George Ezra's 'Shotgun' hit number one in 2018, and he contributed to Ed Sheeran's No.6 Collaborations Project with 12 of 15 tracks, accumulating 14 weeks at number one across credited songs. His work on records for Clean Bandit and Rita Ora solidified his standing as a hitmaker, earning him Producer of the Year at the Brit Awards 2020 at age 26, making him the youngest ever to receive the title.
Fred shifted his focus in 2019 with Actual Life, a project built from voice memos, social media clips, and sampled music woven into original compositions. The first Actual Life album, released April 2021, functioned as what he called a 'collaborative diary' documenting the pandemic year. He followed with Actual Life 2 later that year, then Actual Life 3 in October 2022, each installment marked by release date ranges that underscore the project's real-time documentation approach. A Boiler Room set in July 2022 boosted his profile considerably, and his collaboration with Swedish House Mafia on 'Turn On the Lights again..' brought wider visibility to his production sensibilities. His debut tour across 2022 and early 2023 sold out completely across 15 dates spanning Europe, America, New Zealand, and Australia.
