About Fka Twigs
Tahliah Barnett moved to London at 17 and worked as a backup dancer for established artists before launching her solo project. She introduced FKA twigs with EP1 (2012) and EP2 (2013), building a distinctive sound rooted in electronic and trip-hop textures. Her 2014 debut LP1 reached number 16 on the UK Charts and number 30 on the Billboard 200, earning Mercury Prize recognition that year.
After the 2015 EP M3LL155X, Barnett took a four-year break before returning with Magdalene (2019) on Atlantic Records. She continued with the mixtape Caprisongs (2022), then delivered EUSEXUA in 2025 as a full merger of club music into her established sensual and supernatural aesthetic. Her work consistently draws from electronic, R&B, and avant-garde sources, creating textures that resist easy categorization.
