Electric Callboy is a German electronicore band that emerged from Castrop-Rauxel in 2010 under their original name, Eskimo Callboy, before rebranding in 2022. Known for blending heavy electronics with metalcore aggression, the band has built a devoted following through both intense sonic work and increasingly comedic presentation.
About Electric Callboy
The band cut their teeth in the early 2010s with a post-hardcore influenced sound, touring across Europe as a support act for acts like Callejon and We Butter the Bread with Butter before expanding internationally. Their debut album Bury Me in Vegas arrived in 2012 on Redfield Records, followed by We Are the Mess in 2014, which charted at number 8 in Germany. A significant shift came after 2020 when new vocalist Nico Sallach joined, steering the project toward more theatrical and comedic territory with singles like Hypa Hypa and We Got the Moves that accumulated substantial online viewership.
Electric Callboy's sound draws from influences like Asking Alexandria and Attack Attack!, mixing metalcore bones with electronic production that extends into dubstep and electro territories. The band's lyrical content often centers on partying and nightlife, frequently delivered with satirical edge. Their 2022 album Tekkno marked a commercial peak, debuting at number 1 on the German charts, while recent work has included high-profile collaborations such as Ratatata with Babymetal, which became the theme for WWE's Bash in Berlin event.
The Groove Hunter currently tracks 4 editions of Electric Callboy releases, including TANZNEID and TEKKNO, reflecting the band's output across their evolution as a recording act.
