Djo is the solo project of Joe Keery, the actor behind Steve Harrington in Stranger Things and former Post Animal member. His psych-inflected indie rock carries the experimental DNA of his Chicago roots while maintaining a distinctly contemporary production sensibility.
About Djo
Keery launched Djo in 2019 with Twenty Twenty, a debut that established his approach to layered, synth-touched rock production. The album arrived with a string of singles including Roddy, Chateau (Feel Alright), and Mortal Projections, signaling a serious commitment to music beyond his acting career. His background in Post Animal's psychedelic framework clearly informed the textural depth of these early recordings.
DECIDE followed in September 2022 as his second full-length, preceded by Change, Gloom, Figure You Out, and Half Life. The album consolidated his studio instincts and marked him as a consistent voice in indie rock rather than a side project. His third album The Crux arrived in 2025, produced with frequent collaborators Adam Thein and Wesley Toledo at Electric Lady Studios in New York, with Basic Being Basic, Delete Ya, and Potion serving as lead singles. A surprise deluxe edition of The Crux dropped in September 2025, adding 12 additional tracks and making it his first album to receive expanded treatment.
