About Bring Me the Horizon
The band formed around Oli Sykes' vocals and established themselves with Count Your Blessings in 2006, a deathcore record that drew mixed responses. Suicide Season followed in 2008 and marked an early shift in direction that brought the band more commercial traction. By 2010's There Is a Hell Believe Me I've Seen It. There Is a Heaven Let's Keep It a Secret., they were integrating classical and electronic elements alongside the metalcore framework, signaling the stylistic restlessness that would define their catalog.
Sempiternal arrived in 2013 on their major label deal and achieved gold status in Australia and silver in the UK, cementing their crossover appeal. That's the Spirit in 2015 climbed to number two on both UK and US charts, while Amo in 2019 became their first number-one UK album and stripped away most remaining metal signifiers in favor of electronic and pop production. The shift alienated metalcore purists but expanded their audience substantially. Post Human Survival Horror followed in 2020, and they continued the series with Post Human NeX Gen in 2024.
