Viagra Boys is a Stockholm post-punk outfit that formed in 2015 with a sharp satirical edge. Their sound combines post-punk intensity with unconventional instrumentation, using dark humor and direct language to dissect contemporary anxieties.
About Viagra Boys
The six-piece draws from post-punk's confrontational DNA while adding layers of saxophone, keys, and provocative lyricism. Sebastian Murphy's vocals cut through arrangements built by Linus Hillborg's guitar, Elias Jungqvist's keys, and Oskar Carls' saxophone work, supported by Henrick Höckert on bass and Tor Sjödén on drums. Their approach targets hypermasculinity and fringe conspiracy culture with the precision of critics rather than the bluster of caricaturists.
VIAGRA BOYS started recording with Street Worms in 2018, then shifted into more expansive territory with Welfare Jazz in 2021, which deepened their exploration of anxious, satirical songwriting. Cave World followed in 2022, continuing to refine their brand of social commentary wrapped in angular rhythms. The band released Viagr Aboys in 2025. The Groove Hunter currently tracks 5 editions across their catalog, including Cave World, Welfare Jazz, and the recent Viagr Aboys.
