About Thomas Rhett
Rhett formed a cover band while studying business and communications at Lipscomb University in Nashville, playing whatever gigs the group could land. His father encouraged him to perform at a Nashville showcase, where he caught the attention of Ben Vaughn, an EMI Music publisher who had signed his father years prior. This led to a publishing deal and, in 2011, a recording contract with Big Machine Records' Valory Music Group division.
His songwriting contributed to Jason Aldean's 2010 album My Kinda Party with the track I Ain't Ready to Quit before Rhett launched his solo recording career. His debut single, Something to Do with My Hands, dropped in early 2012 and earned praise for its clever, accessible approach to the subject matter. The Groove Hunter currently tracks 6 editions of Thomas Rhett's vinyl releases, including titles like 20 Number Ones on Silver Metallic 2 LP and About A Woman on Translucent Copper Nugget pressing.
