Smino is a St. Louis rapper and singer whose work sits at the intersection of hip-hop, R&B, and experimental production. Coming from a musical household (his father played keys, his mother sang, his grandfather was a blues bassist), he brings instrumental sophistication and melodic sensibility to the rap format.

About Smino
Smino started young, drumming in his church band at seven before moving into rap with his friend Bari Allen as the duo Young Dumb and Outta Control (YROC). After releasing a self-titled YROC mixtape with limited reach, he pivoted to solo work with Smeezy Dot Com in 2012. The move to Chicago for Columbia College Chicago proved pivotal, connecting him with engineer Chris Classik Inumerable, who became his closest collaborator and manager.
His 2015 EPs S!Ck S!Ck S!Ck and blkjuptr set the stage for his debut album blkswn, which arrived in March 2017 to strong critical reception. NØIR followed in November 2018, then Luv 4 Rent in October 2022. Beyond his solo output, Smino founded the collective Zero Fatigue with Bari Allen, Monte Booker, Jay2, and Ravyn Lenae, and sits in the supergroups Zoink Gang (with JID, Buddy, and Guapdad 4000) and Ghetto Sage (with Saba and Noname). He's signed to Downtown Records and Interscope.
