Fender grew up performing in pubs throughout North Shields before his break came through Owain Davies, who managed Ben Howard. Davies connected him with support slots for Willy Mason, setting him on a path toward wider recognition. His 2018 nomination alongside Sigrid, Lewis Capaldi, and Khalid marked him as an artist to watch within a cohort of emerging names.
His first album Hypersonic Missiles arrived in 2019, followed by Seventeen Going Under in 2021, establishing him as a fixture on the UK festival circuit including Reading & Leeds, TRNSMT, and Glastonbury. His third record People Watching came out in 2025, continuing his catalog of introspective material.
