About Ramin Djawadi
Born in Duisburg to an Iranian father and German mother, Djawadi studied at Berklee College of Music and graduated in 1998. His talent caught the attention of Hans Zimmer, who brought him into Remote Control Productions in Los Angeles. Working as an assistant to Klaus Badelt, Djawadi contributed additional music and arrangements to major film scores including Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, The Time Machine, and Something's Gotta Give.
Djawadi's breakthrough came through television work on series like Prison Break, Person of Interest, and Westworld, but his reputation solidified with the Game of Thrones score, which earned him Grammy nominations in 2018 and 2020 and two consecutive Emmy Awards for individual episodes. Beyond HBO, his film credits include Clash of the Titans, Pacific Rim, Warcraft, Iron Man, and Eternals, while his video game compositions appear in Medal of Honor and the Gears of War franchise.
