About Radiohead

The band formed around Thom Yorke's vocals and songwriting, supported by brothers Jonny and Colin Greenwood on guitar and bass respectively, with Ed O'Brien on guitar and Philip Selway on drums. Radiohead signed to EMI in 1991 and achieved worldwide recognition with their 1993 debut Pablo Honey and its lead single Creep. The Bends followed in 1995, but their third album OK Computer in 1997 proved the decisive statement, combining intricate production with lyrical explorations of modern alienation and establishing them as serious artistic voices beyond their radio success.

The stylistic shift came with Kid A in 2000, which incorporated electronic music, jazz, classical arrangements and krautrock influences during sessions that also yielded Amnesiac in 2001. Though initially contentious among fans, Kid A eventually earned recognition as one of the 1990s best albums. Hail to the Thief in 2003 closed their EMI tenure by blending rock and electronic elements while addressing geopolitical themes. Later albums In Rainbows (2007), The King of Limbs (2011), and A Moon Shaped Pool (2016) continued pushing their sonic boundaries, with the latter featuring prominent orchestral work by Jonny Greenwood. By 2011, Radiohead had sold over 30 million albums worldwide and received six Grammy Awards and four Ivor Novello Awards.

The band's influence on alternative rock runs deep, and their live releases and reissues remain sought after by serious collectors.
