Paramore is an American rock band from Franklin, Tennessee, that emerged from the mid-2000s pop-punk and alternative rock scene. Built around vocalist Hayley Williams, guitarist Taylor York, and drummer Zac Farro, the band moved from energetic debut work to introspective indie-rock approaches while maintaining consistent chart presence and critical recognition.

Paramore formed in 2004 and released their debut All We Know Is Falling in 2005, establishing themselves on the alternative rock circuit. Their 2007 album Riot! brought wider exposure through singles like Misery Business, Crushcrushcrush, and That's What You Get, earning platinum certification in the US. The 2009 follow-up Brand New Eyes reached number two on the Billboard 200 and produced The Only Exception, which crossed into mainstream radio rotation.
The band's self-titled 2013 album marked a commercial peak, hitting number one on the US Billboard 200 and topping charts across the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico. The album included Still Into You and Ain't It Fun, with the latter winning the Grammy Award for Best Rock Song. This period saw significant lineup shifts: bassist Jeremy Davis departed in late 2015, though drummer Zac Farro returned in 2017 after initially leaving in 2010. The group moved toward synth-informed alternative rock on After Laughter in 2017, followed by This Is Why in 2023, which earned the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album.
