About Mayday Parade

The band formed when Kid Named Chicago and Defining Moment combined forces, pooling their resources and keeping the best elements from each project. Derek Sanders took over as lead singer while Jason Lancaster, guitarist and vocalist from Kid Named Chicago, contributed to songwriting. Before signing to Fearless Records in late 2006, Mayday Parade had already sold 10,000 EPs independently and built a massive following on MySpace, accumulating over 2.4 million plays and ranking consistently in the platform's top 30 unsigned artists.

Their debut A Lesson In Romantics arrived in 2007 to solid reception, though Lancaster's departure shortly after over songwriting differences marked a significant shift. He went on to form Go Radio while Mayday Parade continued as a four-piece. The band released Anywhere But Here in 2009 without him, and followed with a self-titled album in 2011. Their live reputation rests on five energetic members commanding the stage with visible engagement and an intensity that keeps audiences invested throughout their sets.
