About Luke Combs
Combs grew up in North Carolina and developed his vocal foundation early, performing in high school vocal groups and even soloing at Carnegie Hall before attending Appalachian State University. He worked as a bouncer while gigging at local venues in Asheville, then relocated to Nashville to pursue music full-time after dropping out of college during his senior year. His early EPs The Way She Rides, Can I Get an Outlaw, and This One's for You established him on the regional circuit before he signed with Columbia Nashville.
His major label debut album This One's for You arrived in June 2017 and reached number five on the Billboard 200 while hitting number one on the country albums chart. The album spawned five consecutive number one singles on Country Airplay, beginning with "Hurricane" in May 2017 and continuing through "Beautiful Crazy" in February 2019, an uncommon streak that solidified his commercial position. In August 2019, This One's for You set the record for longest reign at number one on Top Country Albums by a male artist with 44 weeks at the top. His second album What You See Is What You Get dropped in November 2019, producing the singles "Beer Never Broke My Heart", "Even Though I'm Leaving", and "Does to Me" featuring Eric Church. Combs joined the Grand Ole Opry in June 2019 and released a deluxe version titled What You See Ain't Always What You Get in October 2020.
