LANY is a Los Angeles alternative band that emerged from the SoundCloud era, built on a foundation of melodic indie-pop and bedroom producer aesthetics. Formed in 2014 by Paul Klein, Jake Goss, and Les Priest, the trio captured early attention with lo-fi production and intimate songwriting before expanding into a fuller sound across multiple albums and pressings.

The trio came together in March 2014 when Klein, who had been working solo, connected with Goss and Priest in Nashville. Both Goss and Priest had been running a project called WRLDS, which they dissolved to focus on LANY. Their initial move was deliberate: they uploaded two tracks, Hot Lights and Walk Away, to SoundCloud without revealing their identities, creating separation between their previous work and this new chapter. The anonymity gave them room to build momentum organically.
Their debut EP Acronymns arrived in 2014 and included ILYSB, a track that gained considerable traction online and established their presence beyond the initial SoundCloud audience. Follow-up singles Made In Hollywood and Bad, Bad, Bad continued to build their profile before they publicly revealed themselves as a named project. The band has since developed a catalog of studio albums and special editions, establishing themselves as consistent contributors to the alternative and indie-pop conversation.
The Groove Hunter currently tracks 5 editions of LANY releases, including Beautiful Blur, Malibu Nights Clear, mama's boy Crystal Clear, LANY, and gg bb xx White, representing the variety of pressings available to collectors.
