About Kacey Musgraves

Musgraves grew up in Golden, Texas, performing publicly from age eight and writing original material by nine. She relocated to Austin in 2008 and caught the attention of independent label Triple Pop before signing to Mercury Records in 2012. Her debut single Merry Go 'Round introduced her approach to country songwriting, and it appeared on Same Trailer Different Park, produced by Shane McAnally and Luke Laird. The album earned recognition at the 2014 Grammy Awards with nominations for Best New Artist, Best Country Album, and Best Country Song, while also winning Album of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards.

Beyond her own releases, Musgraves has contributed as a songwriter and co-writer for established country acts including Martina McBride and Miranda Lambert. Her songwriting credit on Miranda Lambert's "Mama's Broken Heart" received recognition from Rolling Stone Magazine in their 2011 singles roundup. Her musical foundation draws from traditional country figures like Loretta Lynn and John Prine alongside artists like Cake and The Beach Boys, giving her work a genre-crossing perspective that distinguishes it from typical Nashville output.

The Groove Hunter currently tracks 15 editions of Musgraves' releases, including pressing variations of Golden Hour, Middle of Nowhere in both Rodeo Clown Colored and Whiskey variants, Deeper Well on Transparent Cream, Pageant Material, and the FTT Pageant Material 10 Year Anniversary Clear Gold Glitter edition, among others.
