Joji is George Kusunoki Miller, a Japanese-Australian artist who transitioned from YouTube comedy to serious R&B and trip-hop music. His catalog blends lo-fi textures with moody production, drawing collectors interested in contemporary alternative R&B.
About Joji
Miller built a substantial YouTube following starting in 2011 through The Filthy Frank Show, which featured shock humor, comedy hip-hop, and viral content across multiple channels. As Pink Guy, he released two comedy albums between 2014 and 2017, including Pink Guy and Pink Season, establishing himself as a memorable figure in internet culture. The Filthy Frank channels popularized the Harlem Shake meme and accumulated millions of followers before Miller stepped away from the comedy format entirely.
In late 2017, Miller shifted direction completely, signing to 88Rising and 12Tone Music Group to pursue music under the name Joji. His first two studio albums, Ballads 1 and Nectar, both charted at number three on the Billboard 200, establishing his serious musical credentials. The singles "Slow Dancing in the Dark" and "Sanctuary" crossed into mainstream visibility, while his 2022 single "Glimpse of Us" became his biggest commercial success, peaking at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 and reaching number one in Australia. Smithereens followed in 2022 as his third full album.
The Groove Hunter currently tracks 6 editions of Joji vinyl across the catalog, including Ballads 1 Clear Urban Outfitters Exclusive and Gimme Love as a limited translucent orange pressing, providing collectors with multiple access points to his studio work on vinyl.
