About Gregory Alan Isakov
Born in Johannesburg in 1979, Isakov immigrated to the United States and grew up in the Philadelphia area before relocating to Colorado in 1999 to pursue solo acoustic work. He started performing at 16 with his first band, but found his voice in the quieter folk tradition. His debut album Rust Colored Stones arrived in 2003, followed by Songs For October in 2005, establishing him within the contemporary folk landscape. Westword Magazine named him Best Male Singer-Songwriter in 2007.
