Abrams emerged from Soundcloud with early tracks before releasing her debut EP minor in 2020, which included 'I miss you, I'm sorry' and 'Long Sleeves'. Her second EP This Is What It Feels Like followed in November 2021, establishing her voice in a field crowded with singer-songwriters. The EPs demonstrated her gift for specific emotional detail and conversational lyrics that feel direct rather than performed.

Her debut album Good Riddance arrived in February 2023, produced by Aaron Dessner, after she built profile as a touring artist and opener on major tours. The record showed her scaling up production without losing the intimate quality of her earlier work. Her sophomore album The Secret of Us released in June 2024 to significant commercial success, debuting at number 2 on the Billboard 200 and reaching number 1 in the UK. Singles like 'Close to You', 'us.', and 'I Love You, I'm Sorry' gained substantial chart presence, with 'That's So True' from the deluxe edition breaking into the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 and reaching number 1 in the UK.

The Secret of Us Tour sold out in autumn 2024 with special guest ROLE MODEL. Abrams continued releasing material into 2025, including 'Sold Out' featuring Bon Iver and Aaron Dessner. The Groove Hunter currently tracks 8 editions of her work, including The Secret of Us in Yellow LP and Transparent Moonlight variants, This Is What It Feels Like on LP, Good Riddance Deluxe, the 5 Year Anniversary red 12-inch pressing of minor, and several exclusive pressings that reflect the growing collector interest in her catalog.
