Fontaines D.C. is an Irish post-punk outfit that formed in Dublin in 2014 and quickly became one of the most vital bands of their generation. Built on poetry, sharp guitars, and intense vocal delivery, they've moved from self-released singles to Mercury Prize nominees and UK chart-toppers.

The five members met at music college and bonded over a shared interest in poetry before settling into their current lineup: Grian Chatten on vocals, Carlos O'Connell and Conor Curley on guitar, Conor Deegan III on bass, and Tom Coll on drums. They self-released early material while performing regularly around Dublin before signing to Partisan Records in 2018. Their 2019 debut Dogrel arrived to serious critical attention, earning Album of the Year recognition from Rough Trade and BBC Radio 6 Music presenters, along with Mercury Prize and Choice Music Prize nominations.
A Hero's Death followed in 2020, written and recorded during relentless touring behind Dogrel, and landed a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album at the 2021 ceremony. The band's third record, Skinty Fia, released in 2022, marked a turning point commercially by becoming their first number one album in both the UK and Ireland. Most recently, Romance arrived in August 2024, continuing their run as one of post-punk's most consistent contemporary acts. The Groove Hunter tracks 6 editions across their catalog, including Skinty Fia, Romance, A Hero's Death, and variants like the SKINTY FIA Analog and Romance Cotton Candy Splash Color Edition releases.
