About Doechii
Jaylah Ji'mya Hickmon started as a content creator on YouTube, posting vlogs and experimental music before dropping her first single "Girls" in 2018. She followed with "Spookie Coochie" in 2019 and compiled early YouTube material into Coven Music Session, Vol. 1. The pivot came in November 2020 with her EP "Oh The Places You'll Go", which featured "Yucky Blucky Fruitcake" - a track that caught fire on TikTok and established her as more than just an internet personality. She continued building momentum through 2021 with her mini-tape "Bra-Less", which included a refreshed take on "Girls".
By 2022, Doechii had earned recognition as part of XXL magazine's freshman class, signaling industry acceptance of her outsider approach to rap. Her breakthrough came fully realized with the album "ALLIGATOR BITES NEVER HEAL", which won the Grammy for Best Rap Album in February 2025. The Groove Hunter tracks 8 editions of her vinyl releases, including multiple variants of "Alligator Bites Never Heal" across different colored pressings like the Translucent Hazel and Pine Green exclusives, along with pressings of "Denial Is A River" and "She / Her / Black Bitch".
