Khaled Mohammed Khaled was born in New Orleans to Palestinian immigrant parents and established himself in Miami's radio scene before transitioning into production and record label work. He joined Fat Joe's Terror Squad as a DJ and producer, which set the foundation for his producer-first approach to album creation. His debut, Listennn... the Album, arrived in 2006, followed by We the Best in 2007, which included the hit I'm So Hood featuring T-Pain, Trick Daddy, Rick Ross, and Plies. Both We Global and Victory cracked the Billboard 200 top ten, with Victory producing the triple-platinum certified single All I Do Is Win.
Khaled's commercial trajectory shifted upward from 2016 onward. Major Key debuted at number one and earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album, while Grateful and Father of Asahd became back-to-back number-one albums. The singles I'm the One and Wild Thoughts from Grateful paired him with Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper, Rihanna, and others. His 2019 album Father of Asahd won him a Grammy Award for Best Rap/Sung Performance on Higher, featuring Nipsey Hussle and John Legend. Both Khaled Khaled and God Did debuted atop the Billboard 200, with God Did's title track receiving three Grammy nominations.
