Caamp is an indie folk band from Ohio built on the songwriting partnership of Taylor Meier and Evan Westfall, who started as childhood friends and developed their sound through intimate coffee shop performances. Their catalog balances acoustic storytelling with subtle instrumentation, appealing to collectors of contemporary Americana and singer-songwriter traditions.
About Caamp
The band took shape in Athens, Ohio, when Meier began performing solo in local coffee shops while attending Ohio University in 2013. Westfall joined him, and they later expanded the lineup with bassist Matt Vinson and keyboardist Joseph Kavalec. Their chemistry emerged from genuine creative partnership rather than calculated industry positioning, which shows in the spare arrangements and direct vocal presence that define their records.
Caamp released their self-titled debut in 2016, followed by the six-song EP Boys in 2018. Their second full-length, By and By, came out in 2019 and marked a step toward more refined production. In June 2022 they dropped Lavender Days, their third studio album, supported by singles including Believe, Apple Tree Blues, and Lavender Girl. The Groove Hunter currently tracks 6 editions of their work, including pressings of Lavender Days on opaque baby pink vinyl and Caamp's Record Store Day release, alongside color variants of Copper Changes Color and their Live From Newport Music Hall performance.
