BTS formed as teenagers under Big Hit Entertainment and released their debut single album 2 Cool 4 Skool in 2013. Their trajectory accelerated through releases like The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 2 (2015) and Wings (2016), the latter becoming their first album to sell one million copies in South Korea. By 2017 they had crossed into the international market, becoming the first Korean group to receive an RIAA certification and breaking the US Billboard 200 chart with Love Yourself: Tear (2018). They followed with Love Yourself: Answer (2018) and Map of the Soul: Persona (2019), making them the first group since The Beatles to earn three number one albums in less than a year.

Their commercial reach extends beyond music into cultural influence. BTS sold fifteen million albums domestically and holds the best-selling album in Korean history with Map of the Soul: Persona. They were the second best-selling artists worldwide in 2018 and the only non-English speaking act on that chart. The group addressed the United Nations General Assembly and received the Order of Cultural Merit from the President of South Korea for their role in spreading Korean culture globally. Their 2019 Love Yourself World Tour made them the first Asian artists to headline and sell out Wembley Stadium.

The Groove Hunter currently tracks 6 editions of BTS vinyl releases, including LOVE YOURSELF : 'Tear' [LP] and multiple pressings of The 5th Album 'ARIRANG' with variant colorways like the Group Red Vinyl version.
