About Boygenius

The trio first convened in 2018 to record their self-titled EP, a five-track debut that introduced their tight, conversational approach to songwriting and arrangement. Baker described their immediate creative alignment, noting that the three arrived with similar artistic philosophies and mutual respect that went beyond typical collaboration. Over the following years, each member released solo work while boygenius remained a periodic concern, allowing their individual practices to develop in parallel.

In 2023, boygenius returned with their debut full-length the record, a ten-track album that arrived on March 31 following a rollout of singles including "$20", "Emily I'm Sorry", "True Strong", and "Not Strong Enough". The project expanded throughout the year with the release of a third EP, the rest, in October. Their work has earned Grammy recognition and solidified a collector base interested in their vinyl output across all three members' catalogs. The Groove Hunter currently tracks 3 editions of boygenius releases, including the record on LP and The "Boygeniuses" Collection, a multi-artist compilation pairing selections from the rest alongside solo work from Bridgers' Punisher, Dacus' Home Video, and Baker's Little Oblivions.
